What does a metal clad sandwich panel consist of?

Published 7 January 2025

Europanels sandwich panels with metal facings consist of a structural and insulating core permanently bonded to outer and inner steel facings. In the case of sandwich panels with an EPS (expanded polystyrene) core, the core is bonded to the facings using a special polyurethane-based adhesive. In this case, the core is considered discontinuous. In contrast, sandwich panels with a polyurethane (PU) core are characterized by core continuity (physical and thermal continuity), since the core serves as both an insulating element and an adhesive (adhesion to the facings).
