Producing a smooth plate in principle is not a major technological problem, as long as this smoothness is within some tolerance. For Europanels sandwich panels it is L = 0.6 / 1.0 / 1.5mm for 200 / 400 / >700mm.

For a satisfactory result, it should be remembered that the standard thickness of 0.5mm steel cladding is insufficient and thicker cladding, such as 0.7mm, should be used.

However, manufacturing and technology is one thing, and the life cycle of a building is something more complex. While the sandwich panel can leave the EuroPanels factory in the desired smoothness, while working on the building it is subjected to cycles of stress due to changes in external temperature (day/night cycles give up to 80 degrees C daily difference!). As a result, small surface ripples may appear on the surface. However, this is natural, and even with regard to walls made with masonry technology, it is not possible to speak of obtaining the effect of complete smoothness. The possible visibility of the irregularities depends on the play of light and the viewing angle.
