Manufacturing of sandwich panel with plain surface is not a problem from manufacturing point of view, however flat does not mean the same to everybody and also it differs in specific environment. There are flatness tolerances required in sandwich panels industry: L = 0,6 / 1,0 / 1,5mm for respectively 200 / 400 / >700mm of panels length.

To have a satisfactory level of flatness, standard thickness of the metal facing 0,5mm is insufficient. Decent thickness should be 0,7 – 0,8mm. Of course, these steel coils are much more expensive.

But manufacturing is just one point of view. On the other hand panels are products with a long life span, so even if the panel leaves factory completely flat, on the building it will be a subject to various forces e.g. load bearing, wind and pressure (in and out), temperatures. Did you know, that sandwich panel must struggle with day/night temperature cycles with even 80 C of daily difference?

All of the forces could possibly cause deformation of the surface, as a result a panel could loose its initial flatness.
Sandwich panels by EuroPanels are building construction materials and should be treated accordingly.

There are 2 factors that should be considered in the field of fire: reaction to fire and resistance to fire.
Reaction to Fire tests are used to evaluate the contribution of a material to fire growth. Reaction to Fire means how the material itself reacts in the case of fire. An important part of this standard is the CE labelling system accompanied with the information about the European classification. Additional national requirements from different European countries are given in national standards.

New European Classification system in case of Reaction to Fire are Reaction to Fire Classes (Euroclasses):
A1 – no contribution to fire
A2 – no contribution to fire
B – very limited contribution to fire
C – limited contribution to fire
D – acceptable contribution to fire
E – acceptable contribution to fire
F – no performance requirements

Sample of the Euroclass for PUR panels by EuroPanels: B – s2, d0

The additional reference numbers:
s1, s2, s3 [m2/sec2] describes smoke intensity
s1 = non or low smoke
s3 = heavy smoke
d0, d1, d2 = description of burning droplets
d0 = no burning, no droplets within 600 seconds

Resistance to Fire means that a whole building system protects a loadbearing structure like a roof or wall construction etc. The European rating could, for example, be REI 30 which means that the whole system will not collapse within 30 minutes.
PUR Roof panels by EuroPanels have R E I 15 result and a wall panels have E I 15 value:
R – Load bearing capacity

To maintain loadbearing without the loss of structural capability
E – Integrity
To withstand fire exposure, in general from below to above, without fire passage through to the other side in the form of flames
I – Insulation
To withstand fire exposure, on one side only, without the transmission of fire in the form of significant heat transfer.

Sandwich panels are screwed onto a supporting construction. They transmit all of the bearing loads into the construction. On the building, they are exposed to all of the natural atmospheric conditions: rain, wind, snow, temperature. In other words, panels do the work on the construction.

A measure of the resistance of the panels is the diffractions against winds (suction and thrust). There are product specific calculations and examinations prepared to check how the panels behave and how resistant they are. In a result, there are a special load tables prepared to indicate proper beams spans that must be kept for the construction. The stronger the panels and the smaller the span, the more the building is prepared to be safe against extreme wind, snow, rain or sun influence. The relevant tables are available for each and every EuroPanels’ product.

It is also important to know the total loads of the building, even its location in the relation to the directions of the world ( North, East…). Please remember: you must have a construction project to follow and the project must have been prepared by a qualified person and for the particular construction methods and materials.

Accessories are an indispensable part of the proper sandwich panel installation. In EuroPanels’ offer there is a wide range of different accessories that together make a whole assembling system. Metal flashings, sealants, screws, rivets, special tapes are just a few examples from our product portfolio.

Firstly, you need to fix the panel to the supporting construction. To do this, special screws are necessary. As there are plenty of different kinds available on the market, we do not recommend to use them judging only on availability or price. Only specialized screws that we recommend are dedicated and meet requirements of our sandwich panels.

Secondly, you must not leave the panels just screwed onto the construction. Metal flashings are required not only for improvement of final look of the building, but mainly for covering opened core edges as well as joints with windows, doors etc. Protection against wind, rain or snow is the same as important as adding the final touch to the esthetics.

We prepared all of the accessories to fit to the panels both technically and optically. Using other accessories that are not delivered by EuroPanels is a risk of mismatching and may be dangerous.

Also it is to be emphasized, that EPS roof panels comparing to PUR ones are weaker against high temperatures (sun-burning).

Due to facings expansibility, a single unit length of EPS panels must not exceed 7m. In case of longer panels required it is recommended to join shorter panels on length with the expansion joint between them.

In case of PUR, the foam is the glue, so we call such a panel a continuous-cored panel.

All of them could be used in different buildings: agricultural, industrial, commercial, warehousing etc.

Thanks to precise production methods, the panels are exact in size with stable and repeatable product quality. Only the length, thickness and colour should be indicated by the customer. All of the products’ features are the same for the particular product family. Thus, finished buildings look very nice and comply strictly to technical requirements of the project. Esthetics, functional value and energy-saving feature are the common factors for the whole EuroPanels’ products.

Another important feature is simplicity of assembling and the best cost/effectiveness ratio. If the building must be erected simply, easily and quickly with low costs – EuroPanels can offer the right materials for roof, wall, partition walls, extended ceilings and accessories for them all.
